Make sure you put the clip on the back

I used this on a 2010 focus. Very nice item. It said the clip for the back was opt. But put it on any how. Because if you don't get the ring around it (tight enough). Well let say you will be pulling it right back out. Excellent item . No need to buy the big dollar one.

Best option if taking the DIY route

It was quick and simple, I halfway followed the instructions because I wanted to program the new lock and keep the old keys, the instructions are made to program the new keys that come in the box. It worked right away on the first try and I have read reviews about the programmer damaging the vehicle's ECM ECU PCM but, that wasn't my experience. Simple and effective thumbs up.

Did what I needed it to

After going to multiple mechanics who simply plugged a computer into my car and told me nothing was wrong even though my car would never start on the first try, I spent 5 minutes on Google and discovered that I needed to replace the ignition lock cylinder in my 2010 Focus. AutoZone delivered the part next day as promised. Simple enough to read the instructions. The coding took a little bit to get right but got there in the end. The only thing was that the instructions did not mention you would need to crimp down the cap that goes on it. No matter, had a family member with the tools to do so. Car is starting up perfectly after I installed it a few weeks ago!
