About
Jeep Wrangler Engine Oil
How to Replace Your Motor Oil
Motor oil is simple to replace and takes less than an hour, even with no experience. To change Jeep Wrangler engine oil, begin by lifting the vehicle on jack stands. Then, place plastic or an oil drain pan beneath the oil pan and oil filter. From there, remove the filter and the oil pan drain plug. After letting the oil drain, replace the filter and drain plug, and add new motor oil through a funnel.Best Engine Oil For Jeep Wrangler
Jeep Wranglers run the best with either 5W-30 or 10W-30 motor oil. The best oil depends on where you're driving, so 5W-30 oil works best in cold climates, whereas 10W-30 is better suited for temperate climates. Still, Jeep Wranglers have been around for decades, so there is a lot of variation between model years. Sorting by year, make, model, and engine size with the filter tool above will help you make the right choice. At AutoZone, Jeep Wrangler oil is easy to find. Quality also isn't a concern when you choose between brands like STP and Valvoline. Plus, picking up orders is convenient with Same-Day In-Store or Curbside Pickup and eligible orders also have Free Next-Day Delivery as an option.

I used Royal Purple years ago when I was racing short tracks. In my new 2019 Jeep JL with the Pentastar 3,6 I noticed the oil temp was running about 220 which is about 20 degrees hotter than the Hemi in my truck. I did the first oil change and put in the Royal Purple to help keep the oil temp down. So far it has brought it down about 5 degrees.
