My 2010 Escape calls for Mercon LV and this is licensed in those applications. It's also about half the price of the OEM Motorcraft band. Ford's service manual calls for 3 drain & fills but I did 2 and it still made shifting noticeably smoother. Don't believe the OEM lifetime service, just change it every 30k miles.

I did a drain and fill on my 2006 Ford Escape with Valvoline Multi-Vehicle ATF and noticed that the shifts weren't as smooth as before. I watched a mind-numbing video on YouTube about using the incorrect transmission fluid and decided that using fluid that met Ford's Mercon V specifications was probably a good idea. I drained the Valvoline and used the Transmax Mercon V and immediately noticed smoother shifting.
