About

Toyota Tundra Shocks and Struts

Your truck's suspension system uses shocks to absorb harsh road impacts and reduce the shock sent to the chassis. Without good shocks, the ride will be extremely uncomfortable and you'll be wearing out other suspension components. Worn shocks can cause instability at high speeds and pose a serious hazard, so they need to be replaced as soon as possible. You can buy replacement shocks for Toyota Tundra models for a great price at AutoZone.

When to Replace Your Shocks and Struts

Bad shocks can cause your truck to squat when accelerating or, even worse, dive under heavy braking. Not only is that alarming when it happens to you, but it can cause a serious accident if not addressed on time. Another telltale sign that your shocks are worn out is uneven tire wear, most often front to rear but sometimes right to left.

Top Shocks for a Toyota Tundra

Stiffer shocks reduce body roll but cause a less comfortable ride. Softer shocks offer a floatier ride at the expense of more body roll, and you'll have choices between top brands like Duralast and KYB with all types of dampening. Shocks should always be replaced in pairs since if the shock on one side is worn out, chances are its counterpart on the other side is as well.

Rides like OEM

No Drama

After 190k miles, the struts lower bushing was almost gone and squeaked on every bump. These new ones installed easily and ride just as good as before. No issues so far, maybe 400 or so miles on them.

broken shock

The hardest thing about this was getting the old one out. The old one was broken and the spring was jammed in place, once I got it out the new one just bolted in 3 nuts on top and 1 bolt in the bottom mount. Good luck and happy motoring.
