How To Remove Swirl Marks From Your Car

Video Transcript

Regardless of whether or not you’re a car guy, swirl marks are a problem for everyone. Let’s face it, there’s nothing attractive about a car with swirls. They can be isolated or widespread, and removing them is crucial to get your car looking its absolute best. To quickly and safely remove moderate to heavy swirls, Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound is your best choice. For light swirls, we recommend SwirlX Swirl Remover. Both can be used by hand, orbital buffer, or even our dual-action polisher. Begin by washing and drying your car thoroughly, and if needed, clay your car using our Smooth Surface Clay Kit. If you’re working by hand, apply SwirlX Swirl Remover or Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound with a foam applicator and work one section at a time using an overlapping pattern. Okay, there’s no need to let it sit or dry; simply wipe it off using our Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel, turning to a clean section for your final wipe. If you are using Meguiar’s dual-action polisher, we recommend using our yellow foam polishing pad. Simply attach the foam polishing pad and set the speed down between three and 5. Apply SwirlX Swirl Remover or Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound directly to the pad and place the pad flat on the paint. Turn the machine on and begin buffing with moderate pressure in an overlapping pattern while keeping the pad flat against the paint at all times. Work a small section at a time, applying additional product as needed until all swirls have been removed. Wipe off remaining product using our Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel to reveal a crystal-clear finish. There you have it, a swirl-free finish ready for your favorite Meguiar’s polish or wax.
