Whoever helped me was amazing that evening. Very kind. I'm terrible w names but a gentleman from Hawaii and a gal who was a long time pnwer. Great people and great at their jobs. Helped me prep for a road trip with no judgement for what I didn't know and showed me how to look out for different things w my car. They deserve raises. I left so much more confident

If you don't use them, you can return them. They are a great safety measure to keep in the trunk in case of emergency, however they are sold separately from the tensioners. One of my favorite things is that they come in a decent carrying case that can be stowed in the trunk and kept in decent condition for returning. I haven't used them, but have them available just in case, which is hopefully the point.

They were not super easy to put on but they worked great with buying the extra rubber tension adjusters. Gave us good traction in several inches of snow.

They were easy to order and pickup, but one broke on the first day. The first time we put them on at Mt. Shasta, in the middle of a huge snowstorm, they were easy but about 4.5 hours later one broke, so we drove the rest of the day into the night with just one. They were a lot of money and we were moderately satisfied.

Easy to put on. NOTE: Do not go over 30 mph like it says, make sure the pieces are facing right way so you don't rip up your tire, and make sure you get a tensioner. \r\n\r\nOne of them broke though after a couple of days of use. It's possible I was going a hair over 30 when it happened, and maybe it got caught on something on road in snow. THought I lost something day before and buried in snow on road was a chunk of metal from someone elses car. Thought maybe same thing happened when I lost one of the two.

  • Tensioners not included!
    Paul - 3 years ago

Would have been nice if they had pointed out they did not come with tensioners. I would have bought them at the same time. They should have at least recommended "people who bought this product also this product" and it would have given me a clue.

The container clearly shows tensioners on the cables, when I picked up my order I asked the salesperson if the tensioners on the container come in the package? I was informed “Yes, I am sure they are”. \r\nWhen I opened the container at the snow line I discovered that the tensioners are not included. I would have purchased a set at the time of purchase if I had any idea that they were not included. These cables were purchased just and couple of hours before needing them. The cables worked as advertised and my winter mountain driving experience went without incident.

Tires had almost zero traction and wheels with chains just spun on the ice. Would not recommend this pair. Spend the extra and get diagonal chains. I think those might work better.

  • Dangerous!
    BihL - 2 years ago

Do not I repeat DONT buy these chains! I ended up sliding down a very little casual snow covered slight uphill road with these on in lake tahoe and ended up in a ditch! Traction on snow and spinning freely on wet asphalt as well as snow. My car would've done a lot better with my all season tires without these on but were a requirement (unfortunately) .Luckily my car didn't hit anyone or their cars but I had to call AAA to come and tow me out of there. Even the driver tried my car with these on and was like wow never seen chains this bad just spinning freely on a clean wet road let alone on a snow or ice! These chains are really dangerous to use. Try something else and do yourselves a big favor
