Review Summary
The product provides a durable, glossy, and protective finish for various surfaces. Many customers report the clear coat sprays on evenly, dries quickly, and delivers a professional-looking shine. However, some users experienced issues with the pearl and gloss finishes, such as the clear coat turning yellow or leaving an uneven, hazy finish. There are also concerns about the long-term durability, with the product potentially scratching or becoming soft over time. Overall, proper preparation and application techniques are crucial for achieving the best results.

NEVER BUY THIS, ESPECIALLY FOR USE ON WHITE CARS
ES141 month agoDO NOT USE ON WHITE VEHICLES. It will turn your paint into a light yellow/tan hue completely and ruin your paint job. For reference, I have years of experience with body work and automotive paint and adhere to proper prep every time. This was used for an at home project. After reading so many forums from the past few years, it’s hilarious that they still offer this product with the same issue. I wish they could refund me for these multiple cans I purchased on top of paying for a complete redo of my paint job.Originally posted on duplicolor.comExcellent for scale models
Butch2 months agoRecommended[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This clearcoat is perfect for scale models. I build tractor trailer and muscle car models. I use automotive basecoat in an accurate custom mix through an airbrush. I use this clearcoat over the urethane automotive basecoat and it leaves a beautiful gloss! I don't need to polish, this product has outstanding gloss. I spray 2 medium/heavy coats over the base color and it's beautiful, durable and I have models in accurate colors. I was using a 2K clearcoat in the airbrush and this simplifies the process. No airbrush mess to cleanup.Originally posted on duplicolor.comDO NOT BUY!!

Yellow Coat
Mike2747 months agoIt says "Clear Coat" but it isn't. It is YELLOW it will turn yellow while curing. Consider I laid this on top of WHITE PAINT. It's the same color yellow that the white walls in a house that has been smoked in for the last 20 years. No weird camera white balance errors on that photo. It's basic Chevy work truck white underneath and the clear turned yellow. Sand it all off and start over 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠.Originally posted on duplicolor.comDupli color always has quality stuff

Not for white paint. Huge waste of time and money
TKJeep8 months agoWhish I had checked reviews online. My 15 year old son and I have been fixing up a Jeep that he is going to start driving. Used Dupicolor primer, and paint to fix some rust spots on the roof. Everything was great until we clear coated it with the 1k clear. Turned the stone white yellow. Looks horrible. We are very disappointed and are currently trying to figure out the next step. Hopefully we can sand the clear, top coat it again, and use another companies clear coat. The 1K clear must not be used on white paint.Originally posted on duplicolor.comYou get exactly what your looking

Nice paint…. Check nozzle!
Jaime Z9 months agoVerified PurchaseRecommendedOf the 4 or 5 cans I bought, the first one had a very loose nozzle. The spray was terrible! Double check that the movable nozzle is snug, which I did for the next 4 cans and they sprayed perfect with nice resultsHelpful?
Yellow tent even if shook well
CJ H.10 months agoVerified PurchaseThis stuff is horrible. No matter how you much you shake it it will leave your truck yellow tinted. I spent $40 just to repaint and sand again.Helpful?
It’s ok. Overpriced
KyleD10 months agoBought this for a painting project and it was easier to apply than almost any other product I applied. The clear is very susceptible to humidity, even though I was in the garage painting, it began to rain outside and the humidity became too high for the clear and it fogged. I had to repaint the entire project due to it. Also, wait 15-20 minutes for the clear application - 10 minutes isn’t long enough to prevent runs. Also it is very soft for very long. It’s be 3 weeks and you can still dent it with fingernails and mild pressureOriginally posted on duplicolor.comTerrible clear coat
AJPat10 months agoThis is a terrible product do not buy it. I repainted my daughter's bumper and used the 1k clear coat and it turned it yellow. Duplicolor should recall all of this junk.Originally posted on duplicolor.com
