KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
Your car's alternator converts mechanical energy to electrical energy in the form of alternating current.
The alternator consists of a rotor, a stator, a rectifier assembly, brushes, and a pulley.
An alternator problem can cause: a discharged battery, poor light operation, and erratic engine operation.

Review Summary
The alternator appears to be a mixed performer. Many customers reported it worked well as a replacement, with easy installation and good fit, especially for classic Ford models. However, some received the wrong part or a defective alternator that failed shortly after installation. There were also issues with the alternator not charging the battery properly or making strange noises. The quality and fit seem inconsistent, and customers may need to exchange the part if they receive a faulty unit.

- AADEN24 days agoVerified PurchaseThey sent my part to a different store than the one I chose for pickup, so I had to go completely across town to get my part. After that, the employees were too incompetent to find my order and give it to me. The whole process took about 90 minutes. I feel like one star is too generous.

Freestyle5 months agoRecommendedWrong Part sent!!! Went down to the Auto Zone in my area in Yuma, AZ 85367. Glad I opened the box to take a look at the alternator sent. Looked nothing like the alternator I ordered. Wrong pully belt attachment, wrong bolt on configuration. The little instruction booklet in the box had the right illustration like the one I ordered. But the alternator in the box looked nothing like what I ordered. The person behind the counter told me the illustrations on the website and instructions were just a generic illustration and don't look like the actual part. He then told me that he couls have a more expensive alternator but I needed to know if it was a 1 oclock or 2 oclock plug location they needed to know this to orderer the right version. On this vehicle the alternator is on the underside and can really see it. That was never mentioned for ordering the part on the online website. This in fact is never mentioned ordering that alternator. So I told the person there must be some kind of identiification about the plug location when ordering. I asked to talk to the manager and told him that you can't find out the right alternator that fits my car, how about that.Purchased for: 2007 Ford Truck Freestyle AWD 3.0L FI DOHC 6cylHelpful?

Questionable Service
Rick9 months agoVerified PurchaseI took my existing alternator into autozone to be checked. It took 3 people behind the counter to figure out how to check it. Their result was that it was a bad alternator. I didn't believed their conclusion based on their competence. I took it to your competition, they checked it . They concluded it was OK. It turned out it was the voltage regulator that was bad, which I purchased from them.Purchased for: 1965 MustangHelpful?
