Review Summary
The JB Weld Exhaust Sealant has received mixed reviews. Some users found it effective at sealing small exhaust leaks, with comments about it sealing well and being easy to apply. However, other users reported issues such as the sealant drying out, flaking, or not holding up to high heat, making it only a temporary fix. Proper surface preparation appears important for best results. Overall, the sealant seems to work well for some users but may not be a long-term solution for all exhaust leak issues.

Not worth it,
DAVID6 days agoVerified PurchaseFor a product from a reputable company its sadly not up to its claims. It started flaking out. I followed the instructions of cleaning the area of rust and dirt, slightly dampened the surfaces before applying it but it didn't help. Not worth it, I think jb weld for metal would be a better fit around the leak than this between the adjoining aurfacesPurchased for: 2015 Subaru XV CrosstrekHelpful?

Start here but don't use by itself for long splits
Ron1 month agoVerified PurchaseRecommendedIt dries very quickly, within ten minutes, but don't use it by itself on a split in the exhaust. Use it in combination with something that will wrap and hold the split closed or it will open again.Helpful?

It will crack on you if used on a flexible part
D.A.Barajas4 months agoVerified PurchaseDid not care for the product. The product dries rock hard and as soon as you hit some bumps, well it cracks and renders your work useless. They do make a much better product for exhaust which is the gold standard for leaking exhaust, and it's the wrap. You wrap your pipes and it hardens when you warm up the car and holds so it works way better.Helpful?

separation of chemicals. watery-runny-too thick
mr 2 swole6 months agoVerified Purchasei used this to patch some small cracks in my exhaust. the tube itself was not ‘mixed’/settled/separated. the first squeeze was water, the middle of the tube was runny paste of the correct substance and the bottom of the tube was so thick it couldn’t be squeezed out. i should have just cut the tube open and mixed it like bondo but the instructions didn’t say that. i ended up going with fiberglass tape.Purchased for: 1mz-fe stockHelpful?
