Review Summary
Customers overwhelmingly praise this paint for delivering a factory-like, silver finish that restores brake components to like-new appearance. Reviewers consistently highlight exceptional durability under extreme heat, with many reporting calipers and engine parts remaining chip-free and vibrant for years. The paint resists brake fluid, oil, and gasoline effectively. Most find it easy to apply with proper surface preparation, appreciating quick drying and the ability to skip primer. A few note spray nozzle inconsistencies, but overall customers consider it a reliable, long-lasting solution for high-temperature applications.

This one was a fail for me
RYAN1 month agoI thoroughly took caliper bodies and brackets down to bare metal with abrasive. I applied light coats, allowed to dry and baked as directed. Brake fluid eat the finish away. Brake cleaner also ate it away. How do you paint properly bleed a brake system after assembly without getting fluid or brake cleaner on the painted finish!? Wow. I normally love VHT products. This one was a fail for me.Purchased for: 1995 Ford TaurusHelpful?
- BRIAN1 month agoVerified PurchaseBought 2 cans. On the one can, the spray nozzle was broken. I used the good nozzle from the other can. All in all, covered nice and looks good

- CHRIS4 months agoVerified PurchaseUsed it on my drum brakes and so far there’s no rust or paint chipping. I did have to redo it because I didn’t apply enough coats, so there was a little bit of rust at first, but after that it was fine.

The tough stuff
Anonymous7 months agoVerified PurchaseRecommendedNice coverage, nice color, had to open all doors and windows after final dry and bake. Make sure you vent the oven after baking 200f for an hour, it leaves strong fumes that took a bit of cleaning, reheating and venting for it to go away. The page for directions on this is the third image. My new drums came out very nice, I followed the directions. I do not know if I had waited another day, 48 hours, a week et. before baking if it would make much difference in fumes. If I was to do it again, I would do the two light coats 10 minutes apart, a medium coat all in one hour, THEN wait a week before curing in my oven.Purchased for: Older SiennaHelpful?
sprays way too narrow
Charles G.9 months agoVerified PurchaseSpray nozzle is way too narrow leaving it difficult to cover flat areas without leaving dry spots and stroke patterns. Covered great on contoured areas and could tell it was a quality product when I sanded out the dry spots. Maybe upgrade the nozzle to one that will spray at least two inches wide for better coverage.Helpful?
Brakes are hotter than this I guess.

VHT IS THE BEST
BLacK1 year agoRecommendedI’ve always used VHT paint when it comes to my cars/truck. Decided to switch to slotted/drilled rotors for the first time in my life and if I ever have to change my brake pads, if I don’t always have it, I’m switching the rotors to slotted/drilled rotors for sure too!! Usually I paint my calipers black since it gets black anyways with brake dust but my car is silver, the slotted rotors are a bright silver and VHT sells caliper paint in silver and it was a win win! (We need more variety of colors VHT like dark charcoal or charcoal gray) so I did my front calipers about 6 months ago and still look like a fresh paint job! I thought I have a review but I didn’t so here’s what it looks like when I did my back calipers! Trust me, it doesn’t fade or crack. I gave it about 3-4 coats letting it to dry about 10-15 in the sun. The inner brake part that has the brake hose/line I left connected to the car and painted it as is. I didn’t mask off anything and just painted away! See pics look at the difference between both set ups.. Which would you do.? If you like old and rusty u prollyvotedfortrump… but if you like new and modern; then we’ll, hit that thumbs up.Purchased for: A carHelpful?
