    First off, this WILL fit the C5 Corvette automatic transmission shifter even though it doesn't say that it will. Second, if you want to do the repair quickly, use a C clamp like the instructions call for! I would have saved two days of trying several different ways that DIDN'T work! I didn't even have to remove the exhaust or the tunnel plate, but did suffer numerous cuts and scratches! The kit comes with two bushings for the C5 type cable and two other types of bushings. I would highly recommend that if one bushing goes bad that you replace both at the same time That advice would have saved me a late night tow back home. Also the bushings will install on both sides of the cable end, but only one of those actually works. Pay close attention to the side you install it on. Have been driving it now for a week and it works great 👍

    I just did this on my 2014 Ford F150, use both orange bushings, the big one first, flat part against the column, a bit tricky, then slide the cable over it, then push the smaller one small side first into the soft bushing. Done.

I had to drill out the plastic end of the shift cable as I saw on YT for the piece to fit, but after I snapped the two pieces together, it appears to be holding on the transmission linkage. Time will tell for how long, but the only other option is to disassemble the steering column and take the seat out to replace the cable.
