Carbon deposits can form on intake valves and other engine components from the oil mist that is introduced by blow-by gases from the PCV system. On gasoline direct-injection engines this problem is compounded because there is no fuel to wash the oil mist off the back of the valves. As the carbon deposits build up, engine performance suffers, often setting off DTCs. Removing these harmful deposits by mechanical means or chemical solvents requires a costly service visit. This OE FIX universal catch can kit minimizes the formation of carbon deposits, reducing the frequency of service intervals and decreasing maintenance costs. An internal baffle and a 50 micron filter work in sequence to dramatically reduce carbon deposits by separating and capturing oil mist from blow-by gases before the mist enters the intake tract. Oil that collects in the catch can is easy to drain through an integrated drain plug or by removing the lower half of the can. This is a complete kit that contains everything required for a hassle-free installation, including four feet of hose, clamps, hardware, and two versatile brackets for convenient placement on a wide range of cars and light-duty trucks.
