KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
A starter motor uses a high electric current to kick off the internal combustion cycle. Once the engine “turns over”, the feedback loop becomes self-sustaining.

Common signs of wear on a starter include sporadic engine cranking and poor starting quality.

Good value, easy install.
ERIC10 days agoVerified PurchaseRecommendedBy the look and feel of this starter it seems good quality. As far as value it seems like a good purchase (new not refurbished). My son's car (08 impala) was having intermittent starting issues. I checked and cleaned all the connections from the fuses and relay, the negative battery terminal connection, and all the way to the starter itself. Once able to identify the intermittent starting wasn't due to something being loose, dirty connection, or a blown fuse/relay I heard the solenoid click on a no start and was able to determine the likely issue was the starter going out (always trying to identify the easiest things first and work my way up, a little more work but it saves me from making an unnecessary purchase.) Install was pretty straight forward however, the area to work is pretty cramped; especially working on the floor and not using a lift. I would recommend having a flex head ratchet or flex head ratcheting wrench handy for the nut that connects electrical (i think it was a 13mm) due to the limited space if you are working on a same generation impala. Maybe use ramps or don't allow your extremely skinny son to pick the height of the jack stands because "it's high enough for me" is the answer i got when i asked him if he was sure we could both fit comfortable-"ishly". Since install, no issues and fires up first go every attempt to start.Purchased for: 2008 Chevrolet ImpalaHelpful?

My car is up and Running.
Anonymous3 months agoVerified PurchaseRecommendedI first want to say thank you to the manager who helped us when we came in to buy the new starter. So far, my car starts up well and it's running good. The mechanic who put it on worked very hard, and through sweat and hard ground got the starter on the right way. I just want to say thanks to everyone the manager, the mechanic, and my friend from church, who make sure that our families car was working so we can get around to where we needed to be and go. Everything all around was a blessing.Helpful?

Adam2 years agoVerified PurchaseRecommendedSweepstakes EntryGet the new gold starter not the rebuilt one. I like Autozone’s warranty limited lifetime. As long as you on the car. If something goes wrong, bring it back they are really good to me and make sure that I am taking care of it Autozone.Purchased for: 2010 BuickHelpful?
Fixed the problem and fit correctly.
Bob R.3 years agoVerified PurchaseRecommendedSweepstakes EntryHad a problem with my starter. It wouldn't start the car. Tested everything out and reduced it to the starter. Bought this starter, it fit perfectly. It worked. Doesn't seem quite as heavy duty as the original. We will see if it lasts.Purchased for: 2009 Chevy ImpalaHelpful?
