It will move even sticky pistons that don't want to move easily and works with either a rachet or pliers. Also comes with a nice case so you don't lose the parts in your tool box. You need to screw the rod in first. i would have liked if you could have screwed the head on separately, This would allow the tool to be positioned in many different ways. So not being able to do that makes it a bit wonky, but if you can get the plate to wedge against the caliper casting then you can screw the rod in to have it push down the caliper position. Keep in mind this wil not work for some applications as you ned the tool with the round notch plate. So make sure it works on your application first.
