Ford Edge Oil Filter
Your Ford Edge SUV has an internal combustion engine that's lubricated by motor oil to protect it from damage. The fast-moving engine relies on clean oil to keep its parts safe, and if the oil becomes too dirty, it will suffer from serious damage. An oil filter cleans the oil during use to prevent this issue, but oil filters must also be replaced periodically. If you don't know which Ford Edge oil filters to obtain for your vehicle, search AutoZone by the year, make, model, and engine size of your Ford SUV.
Ford Edge models feature two types of oil filters. Older canister-style filters that are large, smooth, and surrounded by metal, or newer cartridge filters that are small and show the internal filter material. To replace an Edge cartridge filter, raise the hood of your SUV and locate the filter cap in the middle of your engine bay. Unscrew the cap, replace the o-ring on the cap and replace your filter before putting the cap back on. For canister filters, lift your Ford Edge off the ground onto jack stands or ramps, and drain the engine oil into a carefully positioned drain pan under the vehicle by removing the plug from the oil pan. When the oil is drained, replace the drain plug bolt and unscrew the oil filter using a filter wrench. Tighten the new filter into place with your hand and add new motor oil.
